Performance Last Week
The intended timeframe for these swing trades is 2-8weeks, so, the performance above is not all that relevant in evaluating the strategy; at least that’s what I’ve been telling myself these past few weeks. Ultimately, the TreadingSelect performance summary (at the end of this post) is what should be tracked closely.
Looking back at the best and worst performing CW31 setups yields:
TOP 3: MTB, AEP, SNPS
$MTB: from a TA perspective, this one is surprising as it shows a sustained (yet volatile) downtrend and recently broke below MA’s.
$AEP: breakout of key level earlier this year. Respected MA’s on most recent pullback and reversal happening on increasing volume.
$SNPS: strong upward movement slowed as it approached the key price level. Earnings next week make this untouchable for my strategy.
BOTTOM 3: KT, CL, ATVI (acquisition), CDNS
$KT: not a great week, but possible ascending triangle forming.
$CL: sideways action since late 2020… interested if it breaks above.
$CDNS: approaching top key level on increasing volume but these setups could go either way (break or reject); similar setup to $SNPS above.
TreadingSelect Changes
No moves last week. LYB 0.00%↑ remains the only holding. Staying patient is boring.
Only other item of note is that, despite LYB currently down 8%, the overall portfolio turned green this past week (woo hoo!). Still under-performing SPY over same time period, but that is because of LYB.
Starters (focus list):
ADC, DOX, CI, ADP, WM, TMUS, RSG, MRK, LPLA
Bench (*upcoming earnings OR setup needs time):
PGR*, SNPS*, AEP, KDP, KT
Released (reconsidering OR setup broke down):
